Our School
Franklin Martial Arts dates back to downtown Franklin, in the days of the Zeotrope Theater. In the nineties, underneath the theater was a small martial arts school called the Kung Fu Academy. In 2003 Bruno Souza took over the location as Franklin Tae Kwon Do, and with the implementation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Boxing, it soon became Franklin Martial Arts.
Nine years later we moved to our dream 6,000 sq/ft location in the north side of Bellingham, four miles away from our original Franklin location and just one mile from the Franklin/Bellingham line. With our move, we have been able to increase our space and upgrade its quality for students and guests. In addition to four matted training floors, our new school location boasts two dedicated parking lots, a lawn area for outdoor classes and a room for private lessons. The parents/guest area is spacious and equipped with comfy chairs and a couch so guests and parents can comfortably watch students through the glass windows designed for class viewing.
Since our Franklin beginnings in 2003, we have become arguably the most complete martial arts school in Massachusetts and one of the largest in New England. In my two decades of experience, I have seen the benefits of the martial arts take its effect on students of all ages. I make it my life's work to expose the average person to the numerous physical fitness and mental fitness benefits of the martial arts.
Our Bellingham, MA Martial Arts facility focuses on Kids Martial Arts, Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Krav Maga, Thai Boxing and Taekwondo. We provide outstanding instruction and training for men, women, and children. Franklin Martial Arts offers an environment that is fun, safe and challenging. We humbly believe it's the only place you'll want to come to and the last place you'll want to leave.
Testimonials
From the first time my family and I walked into this school, it felt like home. Not only are all the staff extremely welcoming and kind, but they are incredibly skilled and phenominal teachers. Learning this art from Bruno Souza and Shane Brady is such a privilege! Their knowledge and instruction are superior. Every class is challenging and extremely rewarding. I cannot say enough about this place. It has transformed our lives, and we are so happy to be apart of this community!

Having never set foot in a martial arts building, and knowing nothing about any of the arts, I was apprehensive about enrolling in a class. All fears were set aside after the first boxing class. Everyone was so welcoming that by the second class, staff and students alike felt like long-time friends. Loved it so much I enrolled in not just boxing, but also Jiu Jitsu. The staff is highly knowledgeable, personable, accommodating, and fully committed to your success. The facility is clean and well equipped for a variety of classes.

I take women's kickboxing and it's one of the best fitness classes I've personally, ever taken. I especially love the instructor's, and my classmate's positive energy. I will definitely enroll in more classes in the future.

I went here for a few months during the summer and will continue when I get back from school. I enrolled in their Brazillian JiuJitsu (BJJ) program. The instructors (Shane, and Bruno) were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They broke down each move enough that you understood it but they didn't over simplify the move in anyway. I am very excited to rejoin this BJJ family come spring and get back to training. Its super fun, a great workout! What else could you possibly want?

Great learning environment for all ages! My two sons, my wife, and myself all train BJJ here and could not be happier. This is more than a martial arts school, it's a family here.
